RAFT Simon Center

RAFT leverages community donations and bulk purchasing to offer a wide range of low-cost materials, hands-on teaching tools, and school supplies.

In addition to basics teaching supplies such as markers and paper, we offer many creative reuse materials in bulk or by the bag. See below or visit our Shop page for examples of the affordable items we currently have in stock.

Our store is also equipped with the Resource Center, a creative workspace providing RAFT members with equipment, ideas, and expert assistance.

STEAM Project Kits

These affordable, ready-to-use project kits take the prep work out of teaching hands-on activities. RAFT’s STEAM Project Kits come with required materials and step-by-step instructions to bring engaging math, science, and art experiences to your students. Many of our kits are designed to help you reach student audiences of all sizes. Check kit availability at the Simon Center or our online store. Non-members can purchase kits online, but members receive a 25% online discount and even higher discounts at the Simon Center.

Educator Resources

Available to both members and non-members, RAFT’s free educator resources are designed to support a wide variety of subject areas, academic standards, and levels of learning.

Classroom Idea Sheets

RAFT’s Classroom Idea Sheets are easy-to-use hands-on experience guides. Download for free and use commonly found materials to create engaging learning experiences.

Classroom Lessons

RAFT’s Classroom Lessons use specialized materials and design challenge lesson plans to instruct hands-on learning activities in the classroom. These lessons address Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math subjects and align to national Common Core and Next Generation Science Standards.

Annual Membership Options

We serve all educators.

Anyone who is an educator can join RAFT. Our members work with people of all ages to inspire hands-on learning. To receive a membership card, just complete an application, show proof of affiliation as a volunteer or employee with an organization involved with education, and submit your fee.

Proof of affiliation with a qualifying organization is required to receive a RAFT membership. If eligible, you will receive your RAFT card on your first visit.

How do I join RAFT?

You can join online or download the individual application PDF and mail or fax it to us.

Who can join RAFT?
RAFT is a non profit organization and carries educational supplies and activities for any type of educator that works with students of any age. This membership is available to volunteer and paid educators.
What is a proof of affiliation?
Proof of affiliation is a one of the following items: current paycheck stub, letter from the organization you represent on letterhead, CTA card, PSA membership, business card, check or credit card from the organization you represent, license from the state for daycare or preschool facilities, 403 incorporation documents or R-4(PSA) form from the state. We also accept internet verification or emails from organizations as proof.
Can I use some else's card from my organization to shop at RAFT?
RAFT memberships are individual and are not transferable, if shared with another colleague membership may be forfeited at our discretion.
Does my organization qualify?
People affiliated with any organization whose purpose is to educate is eligible to join RAFT. Examples include: schools, scouts, after school programs, camps, PTA/PTO clubs, religious programs, day care facilities, senior programs, and home school educators. If you have any questions about your eligibility please call or visit.
Can I join if I am not a teacher?
All educators are welcome, including: home school educators, care providers, teachers in the classroom and volunteers that work or run educator programs.
Can I bring my child?

Yes, children of all ages are welcome at RAFT. However, due to safety reasons, no children under 12, including babies, are allowed in the Resource Center.

What are the hours and location?
What forms of payment do you accept?
RAFT accepts cash, checks, MasterCard or Visa and debit cards as forms of payment.
Can I visit RAFT for FREE?
You can visit us for FREE but if you decide to purchase anything you must be qualified to obtain your own membership.
I’m interested in a membership for my entire school or organization, is there a discount?

We are happy to work with groups for RAFT memberships. If you would like memberships for a large group or an entire organization please send an email to with information about your group and we will contact you to discuss options.
